In addition to releasing more fuel-efficient turbocharged models, Honda is also going to release a new plug-in hybrid by 2018, which will be able to travel around 40 miles on electricity alone. The new plug-in hybrid will be closely related to the new Clarity fuel-cell vehicle. After the new plug-in hybrid model arrives, Honda is also planning on releasing plug-in hybrid versions of the rest of its lineup, which will include the Civic and Accord.

By 2030, Honda hopes that plug-in hybrid, hybrid, fuel-cell and electric models will make up two-thirds of its sales.
