BMW is giving the i4 EV and 4-Series Gran Coupe a facelift for the 2025 model year. The biggest change to the exterior restyled grilles, in addition to new headlights and taillights.

The new BMW kidney grille is flanked by slim headlights that generate a light animation once the driver comes within 10 feet of the vehicle to welcome them. At the rear, models equipped with the M Sport package get a new gloss black diffuser. The tailpipes on the 4 Series Gran Coupe have also been enlarged from 3.5 inches to 4 inches in diameter.
Under the hood the changes are minimal. The Gran Coupe models get a new 48-volt hybrid system. The 430i is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder and it has 255 horsepower on tap. The M440i gets an extra 11 horsepower thanks the revised hybrid system that’s mated to the turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six. The M440i has 386 horsepower.
Inside both models get the updated iDrive 8.5 software, which means that the controls for the climate control, heated seats and heated steering wheel have been moved to the touchscreen. The materials have also been updated with new brushed aluminum trim and two available open-pore wood options.
Production of the 2025 BMW i4 and 4 Series Gran Coupe will begin in July.
