Now that the 2018 Jeep Wrangler has officially arrived in showrooms, our attention has turned to the upcoming Wrangler based pickup. Jeep has been pretty quiet about the new pickup, but it did confirm in a recent dealer meeting that the Wrangler pickup will arrive at dealers by April 2019.
Production of the new pickup is expected to kick off by the end of the year, which means we should hopefully see it debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show or later in Detroit. Jeep also hasn’t confirmed what it will be called, but the Scrambler name has been thrown around a bit.
We can expect the Jeep Wrangler pickup or Jeep Scrambler if we’re right, to share its powertrains with the Wrangler. This means that the 3.6L V6, turbocharged 2.0L and even the upcoming 3.0L V6 diesel will be offered. The pickup will come standard with four doors and a short bed for your gear. A soft top is rumored to be on the options list.
Since production is expected to kick off in the fourth quarter of this year, there’s a good chance that Jeep’s new pickup could arrive before April 2019.
