Next week Nissan will reveal the all-new 2019 Nissan Altima at the New York Auto Show, but Nissan has already revealed that the new Altima will be the third model in its lineup to offer its semi autonomous ProPilot Assist system.
The ProPilot Assist system is a step beyond regular adaptive cruise control systems, since it can not only navigate stop-and-go traffic, but it can also keep you centered in a driving lane. When the 2019 Altima debuts on March 28 it will signal the start of a new era for Nissan, since the sixth-generation Altima will be the first sedan to get Nissan’s new design language. The design of the 2019 Altima was previewed last year by the Vmotion 2.0 concept.
Nissan hasn’t revealed what will power the 2019 Altima, but there are reports that the old 3.5L V6 will be replaced by Nissan’s new turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder that debuted in the 2019 Infiniti QX50.
We’ll have all the details next week.
