Honda has announced that it will introduce a new mid to large-size electric vehicle in North America in 2025. This is in addition to several other EVs that Honda has planned to introduce later this decade.

Honda hasn’t announced any other details about the new EV. We already know the first new EV will be the Prologue SUV that’s coming next year and is based on GM’s Ultium platform. Honda is also working with Sony to launch a new lineup of EVs under the Afeela brand. In addition Honda and GM are also teaming up for a line of affordable EVs that will launch in 2027.

To get ready for the switch to EVs, Honda will turn its Ohio plants into an EV production hub, by re-tooling its Anna Engine Plant, East Liberty Auto Plant, and Marysville Auto Plant. Honda and LG Energy Solution are also building a battery plant together in Ohio.

Last month Honda also announced several new EVs for China with the e:NS2 and e:NP2 slated to arrive in early 2024, which will be followed by a production version of the e:N SUV concept.
