The wait is finally almost over! After a long teaser campaign, Honda has announced that the 2023 Civic Type R will debut on July 20.

We’ve seen several photos of camouflaged prototypes, but Honda has yet to release any details about the new Civic Type R. It’s expected that it will be powered by a modified version of the current turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, that’s mated to a six-speed manual.

Honda has already revealed that the 2023 Civic Type R “most powerful, best performing Civic Type R ever built.” It recently set a new track record for a front-wheel drive car at the Suzuka Circuit in Japan. It will arrive this fall, which is perfect timing, since its biggest rival, the 2023 Toyota GR Corolla is also arriving later this year.

Stay tuned for all the details. We will get to see the 2023 Civic Type R in person on the evening of July 20.
