Chrysler recently revealed its significant updates to the 2021 Pacifica minivan and now Honda is ready to duke it out for the top sales title with its updated 2021 Odyssey. The 2021 Honda Odyssey has received a facelift and updated tech features to help it battle not only the Pacifica, but also the Toyota Sienna.
On the outside, the 2021 Honda Odyssey has a new face with restyled LED headlights, a redesigned blackout grille topped by a chrome strip, and a redesigned lower front fascia. At the rear there’s a new gloss-black trim under the rear window with a chrome strip. The top spec Elite trim level also gets new 19-inch alloy wheels and auto-dimming side mirrors.
Inside there are updated climate controls and the second-row seats now fold flat for easier seat removal. EX and higher trim levels get new tri-color floor mats and illuminated USB ports, while EX-L and higher receive restyled seats with contrast stitching, power lumbar support for the front passenger seat, and second row seatback pockets. The Touring and Elite trim levels add new piano black trim on the dash, doors and front door handles, and the Odyssey Elite receives perforated leather for the first and second row seats, with contrast stitching and piping on all three rows.
The standard adaptive cruise control has been enhanced with Low-Speed Follow and Pedestrian Emergency Braking. The 2021 Odyssey also gets a new Rear-Seat Reminder system to remind drivers to check the rear seating area before exiting the vehicle. On Touring and Elite trims, the system also uses the CabinWatch camera to display the rear seating area on the display audio screen.
The Odyssey is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine with 280 horsepower, that’s mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
The 2021 Honda Odyssey is slated to debut next month at the 2020 New York Auto Show.
