Well here we go again, since it appears that the US market doesn’t care about electric vehicles as much as buyers in Europe or China, another highly anticipated electric vehicle isn’t coming here. BMW has announced that the iX3 electric SUV is not going to be sold in the United States.

BMW iX3 Concept

The BMW iX3 was originally planned to debut sometime in 2021, but according to Automotive News, the decision was made because the demand for electric vehicles in lower than expected in the US. This isn’t the first time that an automaker has decided to not sell an EV in the US. Recently Lexus introduced the UX 300e, but it also has no plans to sell it here and VW also didn’t add the US to its launch plans for the ID.3 electric hatchback.

The good news is that BMW still plans to offer other electric vehicles in the US, including the iNext SUV, which is slated to enter production in mid-2021 and the BMW i4, which is coming at the end of 2021.
