Back in 2012 Volkswagen’s head of design Klaus Bischoff revealed that VW had no plans to introduce a new version of the Eos convertible and now it’s being reported that production is expected to end soon.
So far this year VW has only produced 8,000 units and weakening demand mean that the Eos is expected to retire sometime later this year. According to Der Spiegel, a new Eos is not planned because of the cost associated with developing a new Eos with its complex folding hardtop. Also since demand continues to decrease it doesn’t make sense to make a new one.
