Toyota recently unveiled the 2022 Corolla Cross, which is a new subcompact crossover for the Corolla lineup. The Corolla Cross is based on the same platform as the Corolla sedan, so it’s only natural to wonder when a hybrid version will arrive. Well now we have a confirmation that the Corolla Cross hybrid will arrive in the US in 2022.
Car and Driver reportedly received the confirmation from Toyota, but we don’t know exactly when it will arrive next year, but it will also most likely be a 2023 model. We also don’t know what will power the Corolla Cross hybrid, but hopefully it won’t be the same 1.8-liter four-cylinder hybrid powertrain that only generates 121 horsepower.
There’s a chance that the Corolla Cross hybrid could get all-wheel drive with an electric motor powering the rear wheels.
