We’re still waiting to see the Porsche Macan EV, but Porsche has now confirmed that it will expand its SUV lineup with the addition of a new all-electric SUV.

“We plan to add a new luxury, all-electric SUV model to our attractive portfolio,” Oliver Blume, chairman of Porsche’s executive board stated. Blume has also confirmed that the new electric SUV, which is codenamed K1, will be built at its plant in Leipzig, Germany, in the middle of this decade.

We don’t have any other official details about the Porsche’s new electric SUV, but according to Automotive News, it will borrow some of the tech that debuted with the Mission R concept.

“This will further expand our position in the luxury automotive segment. We are targeting the higher margin segments in particular and aim to tap into new sales opportunities in this way, Blume continued”
