It’s being reported that the second generation Jaguar XF is going to have its world debut at the 2015 New York Auto Show in April. The next XF is expected to grow in size to differentiate it from the smaller XE.
Even though the new XF will be larger than today’s model, it will be lighter thanks to its adoption of the same aluminum iQ[Al] platform as the XE. The new platform will help the XF lose about 220 pounds. Under the hood the existing Ford sourced engines will also be replaced by Jaguar’s new range of Ingenium engines.

On the outside the next XF will share many of its styling cues with the smaller XE. Sources say that the new XW will look like a scaled-up version of the XE, but with a less dramatic ‘cab-rear’ look.
