The 2014 Porsche Panamera Diesel is getting a new more powerful 300-hp diesel engine. The new 3.0L diesel engine has 50 more horsepower than the previous engine, which means that the new Panamera diesel is also now faster with a 0-62 mph time of 6.0 seconds. It also has a faster top speed at 161 mph.
The new diesel engine is paired with a water-cooled turbocharger and its eight-speed transmission has been retuned. It generates a total 300 horsepower and 479 lb-ft. of torque. The Panamera Diesel now features a standard controlled rear-axle differential lock with Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV+). The system comprises an electronically controlled, fully variable rear-axle differential lock and targeted, individual brake interventions at the rear wheels. At low to moderate speeds, the PTV Plus improves agility and steering precision; at high speeds and when accelerating out of bends, it delivers greater driving stability.
