McLaren 675LT supercar teased, will be the lightest and quickest McLaren

McLaren has released a teaser of the new 675LT track-focused supercar that will be based on the 650S.

McLaren has released a teaser of the new 675LT track-focused supercar that will be based on the 650S. The “675” portion of the name refers to the supercar’s output in metric horsepower and the “LT” calls out the extended “longtail” design.

When the 657LT arrives it will join the existing 650S and 625C models to fore the McLaren Super Series, which will sit above the recently announced Sports Series in the range hierarchy. With a 666-hp 3.8L V8 the 675LT will be the most powerful model in the Super Series, in addition to being the lightest and purest version in the range. The 675LT is expected to come in around 220 pounds lighter than the 650S.

The 675LT will debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show in March before it goes on sale later this year.
