Kia has announced that it will begin building the Kia Soul EV next month in Korea. The Kia Soul EV will be Hyundai-Kia’s first EV exported to the United States and Europe.
Kia hopes to sell 5,000 Soul EVs globally this year, which will cost 42 million won in Korea ($39,400). The Soul EV is powered by a 109 horsepower electric motor and as a range of 80-100 miles between charges. It can take just under five hours to recharge using a 240-volt outlet or an 80-percent charge can be achieved in about 30 minutes with a 50 kW-output charger.

The Soul EV looks almost identical to the standard gasoline-powered Soul, but it does get unique colors, wheels and LED lighting.
Kia has not announced the pricing for the Soul EV in the U.S.
