Kia has released more details about the EV9 three-row electric SUV, which is slated to go on sale later this year. For 2024 the most powerful EV9 is the all-wheel drive model with 379 horsepower, but if you want more power you’ll want to wait until 2025.

2024 Kia EV9

Kia has confirmed that a GT version of the EV9 will arrive in early 2025. Kia hasn’t released any specs for the EV9 GT, but it’s expected that it will borrow its dual-motor powertrain from the Kia EV6 GT. That EV has 576 horsepower and 545 pound-feet of torque.

In addition to the extra power, the EV9 GT will also likely get beefier brakes, adaptive dampers and maybe even summer tires. The only compromise here is that with all that extra power, expect the range to be much lower than the standard EV9. The EV6 GT has a range of only 206 miles, while other versions have up to 310 miles of range.
