Cadillac is ready to preview its electrified future with the debut of the Lyriq show car on August 6. The show car is expected to be a thinly disguised version of the electric crossover.

Cadillac hasn’t released any big details about the Lyriq, but we have seen a few teaser sketches of it. The Cadillac Lyriq was supposed to debut in April at the New York Auto Show, but those plans were put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Lyriq will be based on GMs new electric vehicle architecture with its new Ultium batteries. We don’t know how far the Lyriq will be able to drive on a single charge, but GM did state that its new batteries will give its EVs a driving range up to 400 miles.

The Cadillac Lyriq is supposed to arrive in 2022.
