Cadillac was supposed to reveal the Cadillac Lyriq electric crossover next month, but thanks to the coronavirus outbreak, those plans have been canceled.

Michael T. Albano, Cadillac and GM’s communications director for product development broke the news to The Verge about the Cadillac Lyriq.

“Our top priority is the safety of our media guests and employees,” Albano stated in an email. “We have been working with GM Medical and Security to monitor the situation closely and have been following recommendations for the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and the World Health Organization.”

Last week Cadillac announced the Lyriq EV at its “EV Day” event in Warren, Michigan. The Lyriq is based on GM’s new modular electric vehicle platform, which will be used by a long list of future EVs, including a new Cadillac sedan, called the Celestiq.
