A few months ago Buck announced that all of its upcoming electric vehicles will get the Electra badge with an alphanumeric suffix. Now it looks like Buick is also planning on adding the GS (Gran Sport) badge to its EVs with a recent trademark filing for the GS Electra nameplate.

GM filed the trademark on October 4, which will likely be used for sportier versions of Buick’s future EVs.

Buick isn’t slated to introduce its first EV until 2024, which will be based on GM’s Ultium platform that’s also used by the Cadillac Lyriq, Chevy Silverado EV and GMC Hummer. We should get a look at the first Buick EV later this year. Buick also gave us a preview of its future EVs will look like with the Wildcat EV concept.
