Today BMW announced its future electrification plans, which consists of offering 25 electrified vehicles by 2025, with 12 of them being fully electric. This also includes a new MINI electric car and now BMW is finally ready to introduce another model in the BMW i lineup, which will sit between the i3 and i8.

BMW hasn’t stated what the model will be called, but it’s been rumored for a while that the next BMW i model will be dubbed the i5. The concept version that we’ll see next week is a four-door, fully-electric sedan that will preview the new i5.

BMW hasn’t released any other details about the concept. We’ll also see the updated 2018 BMW i3 at the show.

We don’t know what all the 25 electrified vehicles will be, but we do know that they will be offered in all of BMW’s brands, including MINI and Rolls-Royce. Even BMW’s M vehicles will get electrified. The first of these new models will be the electric MINI in 2019, which will be followed by a fully-electric version of the BMW X3, which will be badged under the BMW i sub-brand in 2020.
