It’s already been about a year and a half since Porsche unveiled the Mission E concept – a preview of its new electric car. Porsche is still working on a production version of the Mission E, but it’s now being reported that Bentley may borrow the same tech for a production version of the EXP12 Speed 6e concept.
Many of the VW-owned brands are trying to share costs across the board as the Volkswagen Group is still recovering from the diesel scandal. Porsche and Bentley are already linked, since the next-generation Bentley Continental GT will share ride on Porsche’s rear-wheel rive MSB platform that is also used for by the new Panamera.
Bentley is also going to eventually introduce a plug-in hybrid version of every model in its lineup, using technology from Porsche. The Bentley Bentayga SUV will get a plug-in hybrid version in 2017, which will be followed by the next-generation Continental GT.

“It is a wide-ranging plan that is highly detailed and thought out,” Porsche CEO Oliver Blume recently stated. “Synergies could be found in development work, components, cooperating on financial services, joint sales structures, as well as production and quality assurance.”
