Audi hasn’t fully revealed the new e-tron electric SUV, but instead it’s now providing a few more details. For starters the e-tron will be able to travel up to 248 miles (400 kilometers) on a single charge, plus it will be the first electric car that can charge at charging stations with up to 150 kW of power.
Audi says that the e-tron can be charged up in 30 minutes, but it doesn’t state how much the 95 kWh lithium-ion battery will be charged up to in that time frame. In addition to the 150 kW charging capability, the Audi e-tron will also be able to charge with alternative 11 kW and 22 kW chargers. Using an 11 kW charger, the e-tron will be fully charged in 8.5 hours.
We’re still waiting to hear about what will power the e-tron, but its expected that two electric motors will be employed. The final total power output will likely be below the 496 horsepower rating that the concept version had.
It’s rumored that the Audi e-tron will debut this summer. Audi hasn’t released the U.S. pricing, but in Germany the electric SUV starts at €80,000.
