Acura is pulling the plug on its first electric vehicle. Just after announcing the end of the Acura TLX sedan, the automaker has confirmed it has also ended production of the Acura ZDX electric SUV.

The news was first reported by Car Dealership Guy, who shared details from an internal memo. The document explained that the decision was driven by the slower-than-expected pace of EV adoption in the U.S. market, along with recent policy changes affecting EV production and sales.

The move puts Acura in line with several other automakers—including Nissan, Porsche, and Stellantis—who have scaled back or adjusted their electric vehicle strategies in response to consumer hesitation and shifting government regulations.

The Acura ZDX EV was designed to mark the brand’s entry into the electric era, offering premium styling, cutting-edge tech, and access to the growing DC fast-charging network. Its discontinuation underscores the challenges automakers face as the EV market evolves, where strong competition and slower adoption rates are reshaping rollout plans.

With both the ZDX electric SUV and TLX sedan leaving the lineup, Acura appears to be rethinking its product roadmap as it balances traditional models with the transition toward electrification.
