While they aren’t all-new, VW has given the 2024 Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport a pretty big refresh. Not only are there some styling changes, but VW has also upgraded the interior and given it a new engine.
This is the second time that the Atlas has been refreshed since its introduction. On the outside there are new front and rear fascias that make the Atlas look a bit more expressive. At the front there’s a new grille, headlights and bumper with integrated air intakes. At the rear both models get a larger spoiler and an illuminated lightbar has been added to every trim besides the base model. The Atlas Cross Sport also gets a more aggressive rear diffuser.
Inside, VW has upgraded the materials, including adding a leatherette-trimmed dashboard and center console. Ambient lighting has also been added and the top trim models get quilted leather seats. In front of the driver there’s the 10.25-inch Volkswagen Digital Cockpit Pro gauge cluster and in the center a 12-inch infotainment system.
The previous four-cylinder and VR6 engines have been replaced by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 269 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque, that’s mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The 2024 VW Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport will arrive in the third quarter of this year.
