When Toyota unveiled the 2024 Land Cruiser earlier this month, it released the specs for its hybrid powertrain, but mpg specs were left out of the announcement. The EPA hasn’t released its fuel economy specs for the new Land Cruiser, but Toyota does estimate that it will get a 27 mpg combined rating.

2024 Toyota Land Cruiser MPG

The info about Toyota’s estimates are posted on its website, but we still don’t know its city and highway mpg ratings. With a combined 27 mpg rating, the Land Cruiser is more fuel efficient than its main rivals, like the Ford Bronco, Land Rover Defender and even the Jeep Wrangler 4xe, once you’re only using the gasoline engine.

The Land Cruiser’s i-Force Max hybrid powertrain pairs a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with a 48-hp electric motor integrated into an eight-speed transmission feeding with a 1.87-kWh NiMH battery pack. The hybrid powertrain generates 326 horsepower and 465 lb.-ft. of torque.

We’ll have to stay tuned for the official fuel economy specs from the EPA, but it looks like Toyota is gonna sit at the top of the class.
