Hyundai is getting ready to expand its high-performance N lineup to include electric vehicles, with the upcoming debut of the 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N.

Hyundai has announced that the Ioniq 5 N will debut in July and in the meantime it’s released a batch of new photos that show prototypes tackling sub-zero temperatures at the Hyundai Mobis Proving ground in Arjeplog, Sweden.

“Just as our N models are honed at the sharp corners of the Nürburgring, our N models are also honed at the sharp corners and icy surfaces of our proving ground in Arjeplog, ensuring maximum performance in the most extreme winter conditions,” said Till Wartenberg, vice president of N Brand Management & Motorsport sub-division at Hyundai Motor Company.

Hyundai hasn’t released any specs, but since its based on the same E-GMP platform as the Kia EV6 GT, we expect it to also have around 600 horsepower. The powertrain will also have a motor on both axle, which means that the Ioniq 5 N will be the first all-wheel drive N model. Hyundai also says that it features an N Drift Optimizer, which integrates front and rear torque distribution, torque rate, suspension stiffness, steering effort and the e-LSD (electronic-Limited Slip Differential) system to create a driving mode dedicated for drifting.
