Chevy has unveiled the 2024 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison, which is calling the “most off-road capable midsize truck.” This special Bison version amps up the capability of the Colorado ZR2 with help from American Expedition Vehicles (AEV).

2024 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison

The Colorado ZR2 Bison is powered by the same powertrain as the regular ZR2, which means that has a 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder under the hood with 310 horsepower, that’s mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. It also features electronic locking front and rear differentials and Multimatic spool valve shocks. The suspension has been modified thanks to the addition of Multimatic front and rear jounce control dampers.

From the AEV team, there’s a heavy-duty winch-capable front bumper, rear bumper, fender flares and 17-inch beadlock capable wheels with 35-inch tires. Boron steel skid plates and rocker protectors have also been added. The approach, departure, and breakover specs are now best in class at 38.2, 26 and 26.9 degrees respectively. The bigger tires give the ZR2 Bison 12.2 inches of ground clearance.
