Chevrolet has put its all-new 2027 Silverado 1500 on display. The redesigned full-size pickup is here to deliver new V8 muscle and a more tech-savvy interior without losing the work-oriented character that has defined the truck for so long.

You will find the main story under the hood. Chevrolet is rolling out next-generation 5.7-liter and 6.6-liter V8 engines it touts as making this the most potent Silverado to date. The truck also comes with an overhauled trim structure, bigger digital screens and a ZR2 off-roader that is even more up to the task.
While some of its competition have been shrinking their engine options, Chevrolet is still putting its money on V8s.
The 2027 model can be had with two new naturally aspirated V8s, in addition to the Duramax 3.0-liter turbo-diesel and a revised 2.7-liter TurboMax four-cylinder. We don’t have output numbers from Chevrolet yet, but they are confident the new V8s will be the most powerful of their kind in the segment. As for the TurboMax, it is now mated to a 10-speed auto and should provide what the company calls best-in-class torque as standard.
After years of the same design, the Silverado gets a facelift with bolder proportions and a more commanding road presence.

Revised lighting and a sterner front end set the tone, with new LED head and taillights and updated rocker panels lending a contemporary air. More pronounced wheel arch moldings add to the look. Chevrolet says each trim has its own personality, and you will see dual exhaust as standard on Custom trims and up.

Step inside and the cabin has been given a thorough modernization.
A 16.3-inch center screen and a 12.2-inch digital gauge cluster are standard fare on every 2027 Silverado. If you go for a ZR2 or High Country, you get an 11.5-inch display for the front passenger as well, amounting to well over 60 inches of screen space in total.
There is plenty of other tech to be had, from a head-up display and digital rearview mirror to Super Cruise hands-free driving. In fact, Chevrolet notes that no one else in the market can offer a system like Super Cruise while you are towing a trailer. Dual wireless chargers are also available.

For 2027 the ZR2 flagship is getting some serious attention. It is equipped with 35-inch mud-terrain tires, a 2-inch factory lift and Multimatic DSSV dampers. With electronic locking differentials front and back, the suspension is set up for anything from technical rock crawling to high desert runs.
The new ZR2 also has a meaner hood and an interior with Torch Red touches and red-edged belts. For the first time in a Silverado you will find forged carbon-fiber trim.

If you need something even more capable, the ZR2 Bison is back. Made with American Expedition Vehicles, the Bison comes with beadlock-ready wheels, skid plates and heavy-duty steel bumpers.
Chevrolet is answering the call for factory off-road trucks with three lifted models in the 2027 line. The Trail Boss and the more wallet-friendly Custom Trail Boss are back, the former with a 2-inch lift and 34-inch tires for those who want capability without the ZR2 price tag.
On the luxury side of things, the High Country has been made more premium. It is the only one with a panoramic sunroof and 22-inch wheels as standard, plus real wood and fine materials in the cabin. You can opt for a light or dark theme, and the exclusive grille and badging make it stand apart.
To simplify matters for the buyer, Chevrolet has whittled the 2027 lineup down to seven: Work Truck, Custom, Silverado, Custom Trail Boss, Trail Boss, ZR2 and High Country. The idea is to let you zero in on the right mix of value and technology.
Dealers should see the 2027 Silverado 1500 later this year; we will have pricing and the rest of the specs when the time comes. With the new V8s and the off-road expansion, Chevrolet is clearly intent on keeping the Silverado at the top of the heap in North America for both the traditionalist and the tech-minded.
