Last week Polestar announced the updates to the 2023 Polestar 2 and now we have the pricing details. The 2023 Polestar 2 starts at $49,800, including destination. The good news is that the Polestar 2 is still eligible for the $7,500 federal tax credit, which drops the price to $42,300 before any state incentives. The dual motor version starts at $53,300.

The updated Polestar 2 also gets a slightly longer driving range thanks to some software improvements. It can now travel up to an expected 260 miles, 11 miles longer than before. There’s also an upgraded heat pump to improve the Polestar 2’s performance in cold weather. The new heat pump now delivers driving range improvements in a wider range of temperatures, from 20 degrees Fahrenheit to 77 degrees Fahrenheit. The heat pump helps increase real-world driving range by approximately 10%.

If power is your thing, the available Performance Package adds an additional 68 horsepower and 15 pound-feet of torque.

There are also two new colors, the same “Space” metallic black color that was previously offered on the Polestar 1, and a new “Jupiter” metallic. “Magnesium” is now the standard color. Inside the ventilated Nappa leather seats are available in a light grey “Zinc” color, that’s mated to new Light Ash wood trim. The Plus Pack also adds a new cabin air filter. Lastly the 19- and 20-inch available wheels have been redesigned.

Deliveries of the 2023 Polestar 2 will start in September.
