Last night Ford unveiled the 2022 F-150 Lighting electric truck. After the reveal, Ford started taking $100 deposits for the electric F-150 and now Ford has announced that it has already received 20,000 reservations.
Ford CEO Jim Farley recently spoke to CNBC where he revealed that the automaker has received 20,000 reservations for the F-150 Lightning.
The F-150 Lightning will be available in four versions: a base truck for commercial use, XLT, Lariat and Limited. The base model starts at $39,974 and the XLT starts at $52,974 before any federal or state tax incentives.
There will be two battery packs to choose from, either a standard-range or extended-range. The base battery pack provides 230 miles of range, while the extended-range version has up to 300 miles of range.
The F-150 Lightning comes standard with a dual-motor powertrain and four-wheel drive. The standard-range has 426 horsepower, while the extended-range has 563 hp. Both versions have 775 pound-feet of torque.
Production of the 2022 Ford F-150 Lighting is scheduled to begin in Spring 2022.
