Audi has unveiled the 2022 A8 flagship sedan, which has received a long list of upgrades. This includes some small styling changes and an upgraded interior.
On the outside the updated A8 gets a new face with restyled headlights, an updated grille with vertical inserts and a more aggressive bumper. The rear gets updated OLED taillights and there are several new wheel designs to choose from. Buyers can also choose from one of five matte colors and the S Line exterior package is available if you want a slightly sportier look.
Inside the interior gets updated tech features. The long-wheelbase A8 L is available with a relaxation seat for the rear passenger that features a footrest that’s integrated into the back of the front seat. The footrest is heated and can massage the bottom of your feet. The rear also gets two 10.1-inch screens to keep you entertained.
Audi hasn’t unveiled the US-spec 2022 A8, but in Europe buyers can choose from a 3.0-liter TFSI V6, a 4.0-liter TFSI V8 and a turbodiesel engine. The A8 comes standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission and Quattro all-wheel drive.
In China, Audi has amplified the A8 even more by reviving the Horch name for an even more upscale version of the A8. At over 214 inches long, it’s about five inches longer than the A8 L. It differentiates itself from the rest of the lineup with a different grille, two-tone exterior color options and a Horch badge. Audi has not announced if it will be sold anywhere else besides China.
