Starting in September, Mazda will add Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to the 2018 Mazda6 as a dealer-installed upgrade for the Touring trim level and above at no extra cost. Then starting in November, the 2018 Mazda6 will automatically arrive with the technology on the Touring, Grand Touring, Grand Touring Reserve and Signature trim levels.

In addition to upgrading the software, the dealer-installed upgrade will also include the addition of a more powerful, faster-charging 2.1-amp USB port.

Mazda hasn’t announced when the rest of its US lineup will get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
