Volvo recently revealed the successor to the S80, the 2017 S90, which is the second all-new model in Volvo’s revamped lineup. We’ll soon also get a wagon version, called the V90 and there’s a chance that a coupe could also happen. The C90 would compete with other luxury coupes, like the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe and a convertible version could also be offered. Although a C90 Coupe may sound like a good idea, it probably won’t happen for a few years, since Volvo is currently hard at work on revamping its volume models, which includes new versions of the S60, XC40 and XC60. The earliest we can expect the C90 to arrive would be 2020.

We can expect the same four-cylinder engines as the S90 sedan, which also means that a plug-in hybrid version is possible.
