Toyota has already confirmed that it’s working on a new crossover that will be built at its new Alabama plant that it’s sharing with Mazda. Toyota hasn’t revealed any details about its new crossover, but a new trademark filing may have revealed its name – 4Active.
Earlier this month Toyota trademarked the 4Active name with the United States Patent And Trademark Office, but just like any other trademark it’s not entirely clear what it will be used for. Given the fact that we know a new crossover is in the works and the fact that the 4Active name does play off of the popular 4Runner, it’s a good chance it will be used by Toyota’s new crossover.
What will the new crossover look like? Well that’s also not known, but there’s a good chance that it could be a production version of the FT-4X concept that we saw debut back in 2017 at the New York Auto Show.
For now we’ll just have to wait and see if the Toyota 4Active becomes a reality or if Toyota has other plans for the 4Active name.
