Thanks to its new 18.4-kWh lithium-ion battery, the Volt can travel up to 53 miles on a full charge and when the battery runs low, the new 1.5L range extender gives the Volt a total 420 mile driving range. The four-cylinder engine runs on regular unleaded fuel and has a combined EPA rating of 42 mpg.
