Yesterday during its conference call to discuss Tesla’s third quarter financial results, CEO Elon Musk revealed that he has approved the Model Y prototype for production. The Tesla Model Y is slated to enter production in 2020.

Tesla Model Y Teaser

Tesla is expected to unveil the Model Y in March 2019. When it does debut, the Model Y crossover will likely share its DNA with the Model 3. It’s driving range will also be close to the Model 3, but thanks to its higher riding height and crossover shape, the Model Y might be even more popular.

We’re still waiting to hear where Tesla plans to build the Model Y.
