Even though the Tesla Roadster is no longer in production, that doesn’t mean that Tesla has forgotten about it. Tesla has just announced the release of the Roadster 3.0 package that includes a host of updates that will give the Roadster a driving range up to 400 miles.
The original Roadster debuted in 2008 and thanks to the continual battery technology improvements, Tesla is now able to get more energy from the battery pack – 31 percent in fact. Tesla says that using a new cell the battery pack now delivers roughly 70kWh in the same package as the original battery. Tesla is also giving the Roadster a new aero kit that makes it 15 percent more aerodynamic and new tires that have less rolling resistance.
