Opel has unveiled the new Opel Insignia OPC, which gets some style updates and is powered by a 325-hp engine that accelerates the Insignia OPC from 0-62 mph in 6.0 seconds. On the outside the new Insignia OPC gets a re-styled front and rear, with signature OPC design elements such as distinctive saber-tooth detailing at the front and the tailpipe trim integrated in the rear.
Under the hood the Insignia OPC is powered by a twin-turbocharged 2.8L V6 with 325 horsepower and a Haldex all-wheel-drive system. With the six-speed manual transmission and all-wheel drive, the Insignia OPC sedan reaches 0-62 in 6.0 seconds (Sports Tourer: 6.3 seconds). It also has an electronically-limited top speed of 155 mph, but without the limiter, the sedan will reach a top speed of 168 mph.
“The Insignia OPC dazzles with new radiance,” says Michael Ableson, Vice President GME Engineering. “With great attention to detail, our engineers have given it some decisive fine-tuning. This is evident in its design and in its even better driving performance. This puts the OPC squarely in the first league of mid-size series production sports cars.”
