FCA has already confirmed plans to introduce a new midsize Ram pickup, but up until now we haven’t known what it will be named. Well a recent trademark filing may be the clue that we’re looking for. FCA recently trademarked the Dakota name. If you recall, the Dakota was a midsize pickup under the Dodge brand that went out of production in 2011.

The new Dakota trademark simply states that it could be used for “parts for vehicles, namely, automotive exterior decorative trim.”

Since FCA announced the new midsize pickup a few years ago, not much else has been revealed. It’s expected to share its platform with the Jeep Gladiator and it could arrive as soon as the 2021 model year.
