Porsche Attempts to Build Business Case for 918 Spyder

Porsche unveiled the 918 Spyder hybrid concept at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this month and now the automaker is trying to build a business case to put the two-seater into production.

Porsche is reportedly working with its global dealer network to put together a list of prospective buyers. If Porsche can get enough buyers for its new halo car, it would help build a business case to produce it. In 2000 Porsche did a similar thing with the Carrera GT when it approached dealers after the concept was unveiled at the 2000 Geneva Motor Show. Four years after its unveiling it was delivered to a few lucky buyers.

Porsche hasn’t announced what the 918 Spyder would cost if it does get the green light, but it is expected to cost more than the Carrera GT.
