Polestar is giving the world a preview of the four-door Polestar 5 this week at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed with the reveal of a Polestar 5 prototype. Attendees will get to see a camouflaged Polestar 5 in action as it drives up the Goodwood hill twice daily during the event in the “First Glance” group.
Polestar has now announced that the Polestar 5 will arrive with a new electric powertrain and 800-volt architecture. The Polestar 5 will feature two electric motors, one on each axle, that will generate a combined 884 horsepower and 663 pound-feet of torque.
“The new powertrain we are working on will set a new brand benchmark in our high-performing cars. Combining strong electric motor engineering ability with advances in light-weight platform technology is leading to truly stunning driver’s cars,” stated Jörg Brandscheid, Polestar’s CTO and Head of R&D.
The Polestar 5 is scheduled to launch in 2024, which means it will follow the introductions of the Polestar 3 and 4 SUVs.
