Nissan’s Safety Shield 360 bundles six active safety and driver-assist technologies, which includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Rear Automatic Braking.

According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), cross traffic alert reduces crashes by 22 percent; the combination of rearview cameras and sensors reduces crashes by 42 percent; and adding rear emergency braking reduces backing crashes by 78 percent compared with vehicles with none of these features.

Nissan expects that by 2021 the Safety Shield 360 safety suite will be on one million vehicles that it sells a year. It will be standard on SV and SL trim levels of the 2019 Rogue, 2019 Rogue Sport and the 2019 Altima.
