It’s been rumored that Nissan is planning a sportier Nismo version of the 2018 Leaf, but now Nissan has confirmed that it is going to unveil a Leaf Nismo concept this month. The Nissan Leaf Nismo concept will be based on the 2018 Leaf and debut at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show.

Nissan hasn’t fully unveiled the Leaf Nismo concept yet, but images of the concept were recently shown at an event in Europe.
“The previous Leaf’s design wasn’t popular with the majority of people, so its look couldn’t contribute to sales. The new car is lower, wider and sportier, with the point of this design being to get greater accessibility of the market,” stated the Leaf’s design chief Alfonso Albaisa.
Beyond the sportier styling, the Leaf Nismo concept will likely lso get some suspension upgrades and maybe even a bit more power.
