Honda's Reworked Civic to Arrive by End of 2012

It’s no secret that Honda screwed up with the redesigned Civic that came out earlier this year. Honda’s CEO has even gone on record by taking the blame for the Civic’s poor reception. It was previously reported that Honda was going to speed up the redesign of the Civic due to the negative feedback, but that new Civic wasn’t expected until sometime in 2013. Now it looks like Honda has already sent its dealers a memo stating that the reworked Civic will arrive by the end of 2012.

Since the redesigned Civic is coming so soon, don’t expect to see any big changes. The redesign will probably be similar to a standard mid-life refresh. Hopefully Honda will pay most of its attention on the interior.

According to the The Associated Press, American Honda President Tetsuo Iwamura stated that Honda is going to “improve the Civic’s drivability.” With that announcement we can expect to see some suspension upgrades as well, although Iwamura stopped short of providing any further details.
