In addition to using the new twin-clutch transmission in the Lancer Evolution and upcoming Lancer Ralliart, Mitsubishi is also going to put the transmission in the Outlander SUV.

Early next year the Twin Clutch SST will find a new home in the Outlander SUV with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters. The TC-SST will be mated first with the 2.2L diesel. The benefits of the transmission include almost no power loss between shifts, better fuel consumption and lower emissions compared to traditional automatic transmissions.

The diesel powered Outlander with the TC-SST is expected to be unveiled this fall at the Paris Motor Show.
