Mercedes-benz is reportedly boosting production of the new S-Class to keep up with demand. To boost production of the S-Class sedan, employees at its plant in Sindelfingen, Germany have agreed to work an additional 74 minutes a day starting in 2014, which is in addition to the 30 minutes that were added this year.
In addition to ramping up S-Class production, Mercedes-Benz is also adding extra shifts to build more GLK SUVs and the C-Class. Thanks to the introduction of new models like the S-Class and GLA, Mercedes has seen its sales outpace increases from competitors like BMW and Audi. Mercedes hopes to take the lead in the luxury segment by the end of the decade.
