It looks like Mercedes-Benz is working on an all-electric version of the G-Class, based on the trademark applications that it recently filed with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).

The MBEQ Club forum discovered that Mercedes-Benz recently trademarked two new names: EQG 560 and an EQG 580. We don’t have any other details, but the names hint that the electric G-Class will have the same powertrains as the upcoming EQS.

If that’s the case, the EQG 580 will be powered by electric motors on each axle that will generate a combined 516 horsepower and 611 pound-feet of torque.

We don’t have an official arrival date for the electric G-Class, but it is rumored it could arrive by 2024.
