The current generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class hasn’t been on the market that long, but that isn’t stopping Mercedes from adding some new updates to keep it ahead of the BMW 5 Series. The biggest addition to the 2018 E-Class is the Linguatronic voice control system that can understand up to 450 voice controls to let you control systems, like the entertainment system and climate control.

For the first time the Linguatronic system can control the air conditioning functions, like the blower level and temperature, plus seat heating can be controlled conveniently by voice command. The same also goes for the rear window heater and various comfort and lighting functions. Another new feature enables the driver to call up a wide range of information – such as the date the next service is due, the current speed limit, the vehicle’s range or the current date.

The updated E-Class will also be offered with a new variant of the Audio 20 system in the E-Class with a larger 12.3‑inch media display and new infotainment software. The new Audio 20 system can optionally be combined with an additional high-resolution 12.3‑inch display cluster under a shared glass cover to produce a widescreen cockpit.

Other updates to the 2018 E-Class include, new open-pore wood finishes, nappa leather seats in macchiato beige/yacht blue and an enhanced ambient lighting system with 64 colors and three color zones.
