Mercedes-Benz Releases the Details About the 2013 GL63 AMG

Mercedes-Benz has just released the details about the top GL63 AMG that will arrive in the first quarter of 2013.

The new 2013 Mercedes-Benz GL350 BlueTEC, GL450 and GL550 models are set to arrive in U.S. dealerships in September 2012. Mercedes-Benz has just released the details about the top GL63 AMG that will arrive in the first quarter of 2013.

The AMG version of the GL is powered by a 5.5-liter V8 biturbo engine 550 hp and 560 lb-ft of torque. All that power is sent to all four wheels via a seven-speed automatic transmission that has three modes. The GL63 AMG accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds, while the top speed is electronically limited at 155 mph. An ECO stop/start function also turns off the V8 at a standstill.

On the outside the GL63 AMG stands out from the rest of the GL lineup with LED daytime running lamps, a tweaked front fascia, 21-inch AMG wheels, an AMG sports exhaust system and “V8 BITURBO” badges on the fenders. The interior gets an AMG performance steering wheel, sport seats and the dashboard, armrests and door trim are finished in MB-Tex with double stitching.
