Mercedes-Benz recently unveiled the 2020 Mercedes-Benz EQC electric SUV, which is the first electric model from its new EQ sub-brand. The next model to debut will be the small electric EQA hatchback, which will then reportedly be followed by a flagship electric sedan called the Mercedes-Benz EQS.

According to a new report from Autocar, the Mercedes-Benz EQS will be the first EQ model to get its own dedicated platform, since the EQC shares its platform with the GLC and the EQA shares its DNA with the A-Class. The EQS will be built on a new MEA2 platform that uses an extensive amount of aluminum. The reports also claim that the EQS will be sized in between the E-Class and S-Class sedans with proportions closer to the CLS.

The Mercedes-Benz EQS will be powered by two electric motors, like the EQC.

The EQA, EQC and EQS models are only three models from the list of over 130 electrified models that Mercedes-Benz is planning on introducing over the next seven years. We also expect that Mercedes-Benz will release an electric sedan to rival the Tesla Model 3 and an electric compact crossover.
